German Realty Firm, Hochtief set to enter India Construction Industry
Hochtief, Germany’s largest construction company, is set to enter the Indian construction industry in a partnership with Bangalore-based realty major RMZ Corp.
Hochtief is a service-oriented company and its services mainly include constructing buildings and civil and structural engineering. The company also operates in market segments like shopping centres, high-rises, airports, tunnels and power plants.
Hochtief had an annual turnover of 15.5 billion euros in 2006 and is represented in all major markets worldwide.
Hochtief has ConTrust, which is the classic construction business, PreFair, a partnership-based business, FormArt, a property development business, and AdMore, – a brand that offers service packages and building diagnosis.
RMZ Corp. on the other hand, is a major supplier of commercial real estate, with a presence in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune. In the last five years, it has acquired and developed over 13 million sq ft and manages a property portfolio in excess of $2 billion in real estate value across the country. The company has plans of entering the hospitality, retail, and residential segments.
